The program is simple: For every copy of Young Writers' Toolkit purchased by anyone associated with a school, that school will get a free copy of the book. Schools may use these books in classrooms, or may distribute them to the families of socioeconomically disadvantaged students. The books may be purchased by parents, members of the community, teachers, or the school itself.
Signing up for the program is easy—schools simply complete, sign, and return
a one-page Participation Agreement.
Participating schools distribute flyers to parents using their normal parent communication
mechanism (such as "Friday Folders").
Participating schools will receive a school-specific website URL which must be used when books are purchased.
Free books will be delivered to schools four times a year
(August, November, February, and May).
Principals and school district administrators are encouraged to contact Per Se Press and
sign up for the program. Parent volunteers, including members of the PTA or similar organizations,
are encouraged to bring the program to the attention of their school's principal.
